Boom! Studios is an American comic book and graphic novel publisher founded on June 1, 2005, by Ross Richie and Andrew Cosby, who sought to move away from the politics of Hollywood. Boom!'s first publication was the zombie anthology series, Zombie Tales #1, which was released under the Boom! and Atomeka Press logos on June 29, 2005. Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis would then import their Hero Squared series from Atomeka to Boom!, thus making it the first comic book solicited solely under the Boom! logo. Along with the aforementioned Hero Squared, Boom! also released notable comics such as Planetary Brigade, Jeremiah Harm, Zombie Tales and Cthulhu Tales. It wasn't until 2019 that they launched the Something Is Killing the Children comic series by James Tynion IV and Werther Dell'Edera, which is being adapted into a television series by Netflix.
