The House of Slaughter is the Northern USA branch of The Order of St. George; formerly one of three, now one of two, the House of Slaughter is strict in their rules and traditions, ruthless in its actions, and responsible for protecting half of North America from the monsters that civilians cannot see.

As of 2021,[2] it is led by The Old Dragon, with Cecilia Slaughter (the Head of the White Masks) as his second-in-command.[3] The council also includes Buck Slaughter of the Azure Masks, and unnamed heads of the Scarlet and Silver branches.[4] With the departure of Erica Slaughter, the House has no Black Masks,[5] leading to Maxine Slaughter tranferring from her White Mask position to train as a Black Mask in the Houses of Boucher[6] and Cutter.[7]

History[]

The House of Slaughter was founded by Samuel Cutter, an immigrant from the English house meant to establish a branch in New York. Following the death of his colleagues and the realization of the violence being enacted on the indigenous population, Samuel fled New York and proceeded to found the House of Slaughter in what would become Chicago, named after the slaughter of the indigenous children he witnessed, and began training other pioneers and native people to hunt monsters. While he refused to talk to the House of Cutter, he continued communicating with The Great House of St. George, so they would allow him to do whatever he wished. The House of Cutter, in response, would funnel all their resources into the House of Blood that Samuel had abandoned. With French settles founding the less traditional La Maison de Boucher, this would put three houses in North America.

These houses would operate with each other until the early twentieth century, sometime during the Great Depression or World War II, when the House of Blood would suspiciously and mysteriously fall. Slaughter would take in any surviving hunters, as well as Blood's territory, which gave them a large expansion. Along with America's status as a global leader, they would become one of the more powerful Houses in the world.[7]

Specific rules and traditions[]

The House is very strict in its order, with little patience for rulebreakers and "strays." None may enter the House until they have passed The Sacrament of Initiation, or at least not through the front door.[8]

Members must wear their bandana at all times in the House except in their own dormitories.[9]

Religious or National holidays such as Christmas are celebrated.[10]

The House of Slaughter[]

The titular House of Slaughter is a large building located in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Enclosed by a gate, it stands at four stories, with the insignia of the Order placed in the outward center of the third story, above a balcony.
