Octo is a high-level Phantasmatype monster bound to the hunter Erica Slaughter. Originally an Oscuratype that killed her parents and best friend, Octo was taken down by a young Erica and her future mentor, Jessica Slaughter, and bound to Erica's octopus plush. Bound to Erica by ritual, Octo is now her familiar, something that he dislikes due to his desire to cause more violence. He often tries to get Erica or other characters to get themselves killed in order to witness the fallout. Despite this, he and Erica are inseparable; while she often says that she wants to burn him, she never does so.
